Why Hearts & Hands exists

Rooted in love. Growing in truth.

Hearts & Hands helps parents open Scripture with young children, speak clearly about Jesus and practise faithful love through ordinary family life.

Our beginning

A simple Bible Club, growing into a family resource library.

Hearts & Hands began with a practical question: how can children meet the living God in Scripture and learn to respond with trust, gratitude and love?

The first answer was a repeatable Home Bible Club built around welcome, Bible reading, age-appropriate teaching, creative response, movement, memory and prayer. This website carries the same careful rhythm into resources that a parent can use at home.

It is not about turning family life into school. It is about opening a small, faithful space where truth can be heard and love can be practised.

What guides the work

Bible-open, gospel-shaped and kind to children.

The method can flex. These foundations do not.

  • Scripture firstThe actual Bible passage is opened and read before the story is simplified or explained.
  • Jesus at the centreChildren are helped to see who Jesus is, what he has done and why his welcome is good news.
  • Grace before actionWe begin with what God has done before asking a child to respond, help or obey.
  • Whole-child learningListening, talking, moving, making, wondering and resting can all support faithful learning.
  • Love in practiceEvery truth is connected to one small, wise and concrete response in family or community life.

Who it is for

One table, many ways to take part.

The resources are written so an adult can guide the moment while children respond at their own stage.

Child safety and dignity

Children are never pressured to perform faith.

Participation is always invitational. A child may answer, move, point, draw, listen or pass. No one is ranked by Bible knowledge, reading speed, memory or confidence.

Touch requires permission. Photos and recordings require explicit consent. Personal prayer details stay private unless safeguarding requires a responsible adult to act.

Where Hearts & Hands is used in a group, the full parent pack, consent process and safeguarding arrangements must be in place before children attend.

The journey

Know God. Love Jesus. Walk by the Spirit.

01

Know God

Meet the Creator who is good, loving, holy and faithful. Build wonder without confusing creation with the Creator.

02

Love Jesus

Hear the gospel clearly: we need rescue, Jesus died for us, Jesus rose and salvation is God’s gift.

03

Walk by the Spirit

Learn that God gives the Holy Spirit, who helps his people grow in fruit and live as witnesses to Jesus.

Common questions

What parents may want to know.

Do I need to be an experienced Bible teacher?

No. Begin with a short passage and one clear truth. The guides explain the main idea, questions and activity. Read the passage yourself first, and be willing to say, “I am not sure. Let us look carefully together.”

How long should a family moment last?

Five to twenty minutes can be enough at home. The 12-week simple curriculum uses 60-minute sessions, while the separate Term 1 plan uses 75-minute meetings. Each includes welcome, teaching, activities, movement, memory and prayer.

Which ages are the resources for?

The home resources are intended for families with young children. The formal Bible Club has two teaching routes: Little Lights for ages 3–5 and Bible Explorers for ages 6–8. Parents can simplify further for babies and toddlers.

What if my child will not sit still or answer?

That is not a failure. Add movement, offer two concrete choices, let the child point or draw, or simply read and finish with a short blessing. Children may always pass.

Are the videos ready?

Not yet. They are being prepared around a calm, subtitle-friendly approach. The story page explains what families can expect without presenting unpublished videos as available.

Can I run the full Bible Club with a group?

The curriculum can support a small group, but group use needs the approved parent pack, consent process, allergy and health information, emergency arrangements and safeguarding controls.
