Read the Bible passage together, then choose an activity that suits your child. This short home guide is not a full Bible Club session.

Main truth

God's Word tells us what is true, gives light for our next steps and leads us to Jesus.

Parent steps

  1. Open Psalm 119 and show that Psalms is a book in the Bible.
  2. Read Psalm 119:101-105, or the whole 97-105 passage if your child is ready.
  3. Turn to Luke 24:25-27 and explain that Jesus showed how Scripture points to him.
  4. Say clearly that the Bible is not magic paper. We love God's Word because God speaks truth through it.
  5. Trace a path from a Bible picture to the name Jesus and let the child walk, point, draw or watch.

Activity choices

Little Lights

Use actions: open-book hands, shining fingers, point to the path, hands over heart. Colour a lamp outline or draw one thing light helps them see.

Bible Explorers

Practise book, chapter and verse with Psalm 119:105, then find Mark 10:14, Psalm 23:1 and Luke 24:6 with a buddy or adult.

Family-length option

Let the child choose one Bible story. Say the book name and show where it appears in the Bible. No test is required.

Concrete questions

  • What can light help us see?
  • Who does the Bible's big story lead us to?
  • Does Psalm 119:105 promise every detail years ahead, or light for our steps?

Gentle prayer response

Thank you, God, for your Word. Please give light to our steps and lead us to Jesus.

Safety note

Use a battery torch only. Do not darken the whole room, create a frightening surprise, use candles, rank readers or treat questions as unbelief.
